Hope for the Heart:
The Ministry Organization Behind ICCI

ICCI is a strategic initiative of Hope for the Heart – a worldwide biblical counseling, coaching, and caregiving ministry founded by June Hunt in 1986.

For nearly four decades, Hope for the Heart has helped people find biblical hope and practical help for life's toughest challenges while equipping Christians around the world to care for others with wisdom, compassion, and truth.

Why This Matters

If you’re part of ICCI, you’re part of something bigger than a coaching organization.

Behind every ICCI course, credential, and coaching pathway is a ministry with decades of experience helping people navigate real-life struggles through God’s Word. The biblical principles, practical tools, and heart for transformation that shape ICCI were forged through years of counseling, caregiving, training, and ministry at Hope for the Heart.

Simply put, ICCI exists because Hope for the Heart has spent over forty years equipping people to apply God’s Word to real-life issues.

A Ministry of Biblical Hope and Practical Help

Hope for the Heart began in 1986 when June Hunt saw a need for trustworthy biblical resources that addressed the real issues people face every day.

What started as a desire to provide God’s truth for today’s problems has grown into a worldwide ministry of hope, impacting millions of lives through biblical tools, training programs, radio broadcasts, podcasts, events, and international partnerships.

For over 40 years, Hope for the Heart has served individuals, churches, counselors, chaplains, ministry leaders, caregivers, and Christian Life Coaches in more than 70 countries and over 35 languages.

Through it all, the mission remains the same: Providing biblical hope and practical help.

June Hunt's Vision

June Hunt is an author, broadcaster, counselor, speaker, and the founder of Hope for the Heart.

For decades, she has helped people apply God’s Word to life’s most difficult challenges through books, training, speaking, and her award-winning radio program, Hope in the Night.

But perhaps her most enduring contribution is a simple idea:
People need clear, biblical answers to real-life problems.

That conviction led June to develop the ministry’s most trusted resource – the Keys for Living Library – which continues to equip people around the world with clear answers from God’s Word.

The Keys for Living Library

At the core of Hope for the Heart is the Keys for Living Library, a collection of biblical resources covering more than 100 real-life topics.

From anxiety and depression to marriage, grief, addiction, forgiveness, and identity, each resource provides practical guidance rooted in Scripture and designed to help people move forward with confidence and hope.

These resources have equipped countless pastors, ministry leaders, and coaches like you all over the world to better care for those God has placed in their lives.

They also help shape the biblical foundation that makes ICCI unique.

While many coaching programs add faith as a supplement, ICCI’s approach is built on a foundation of biblical truth that has been developed, tested, and trusted through decades of ministry.

The Complete
System
of Care

Hope for the Heart’s resources are designed to work together as a Complete System of Care – a comprehensive set of tools and initiatives helping people overcome challenges and become equipped to help others.

From the Keys for Living Library and online courses to conferences, podcasts and broadcasts, and leadership development, each part of the system serves a unique purpose in helping people apply God’s Word to real-life challenges.

ICCI is one important part of that system. While many Hope for the Heart resources are designed to help individuals facing specific challenges, ICCI focuses on equipping Christian Life Coaches and ministry leaders to serve others with wisdom, compassion, and confidence.

Today, coaches trained through ICCI often engage with the broader Hope for the Heart ministry through resources, events, and ongoing training opportunities – including our annual Hope Together Conference, which serves as Hope for the Heart’s and ICCI’s annual gathering for fellowship, training, and equipping.

From Caring for People to Equipping People

As Hope for the Heart continued to grow, so did the need for training and equipping those who felt called to help others.

In 2018, with the worldwide growth of life coaching as a distinct field, Dr. Eric Scalise gathered a group of respected Christian coaches, ministry leaders, and subject matter experts to pray, seek God’s direction, and explore how they might better equip Christians called to serve through coaching.

Those conversations became the International Christian Coaching Institute.

Today, ICCI carries forward the same mission that has guided Hope for the Heart from the beginning: helping people experience transformation through biblical truth while equipping others to provide wise, compassionate care.

How Hope for the Heart
Shapes ICCI

Biblical Truth at the Foundation

ICCI's coaching curriculum is rooted in the same biblical principles, caregiving framework, and practical wisdom that have guided Hope for the Heart for four decades.

A Legacy of Trust and Ministry

As a strategic initiative of Hope for the Heart, ICCI is backed by a ministry with a long history of equipping Christians, churches, counselors, coaches, and caregivers around the world.

A Shared Mission

Both Hope for the Heart and ICCI exist to help people discover hope, experience transformation, and fulfill God's purpose for their lives. ICCI simply carries that mission into the field of Christian Life Coaching.
