Electives
If you’re pursuing a Specialization Credential, you may select one Elective of your choice as a substitute for one of the courses in any specialization category.
Do I need to take the Foundations courses first?
If you’re new to life coaching, a good place to start is to complete the three Foundations courses. This will help you with the basics, which can then be applied to any of the ICCI Core Credentials you pursue.
If you are already an experienced or credentialed life coach and have completed your core training, then you can start with one or more of the Specialization courses that interest you.
Are the courses online?
Yes. All ICCI courses are fully online and self-paced, allowing you to learn according to your own schedule.
What are ICCI Specialization Courses?
ICCI Specialization courses offer advanced training in focused areas of Christian Life Coaching designed to help you develop expertise in a particular area or niche of coaching ministry or practice. You can train and grow in one area or take courses in various specialization areas.
These Specialization courses build upon the three Christian Life Coaching Foundations courses. If you are not pursuing a coaching credential, however, you are free to take whichever Specialization courses you choose to be equipped in skills that can be transferred to your area of work or ministry.
Do I need to complete courses in a specific order?
Typically, no. Most Specialization courses can be taken in any order.
We do have a number of courses that are taught by the same instructor(s) and they may build on one another, so we recommend reviewing course descriptions carefully before you begin.
Why is it beneficial for me to specialize?
Specializations help you:
- Clarify focus and build your practice/ministry brand as a life coach
- Gain greater subject matter expertise in a particular coaching niche
- Strengthen your confidence with specific client needs
- Continue your personal/professional growth or credentialing journey
- Learn from experienced, nationally respected Christian coaching leaders and trainers
- Provide biblical wisdom and practical tools to clients
Having an ICCI Specialization shows potential clientele the area(s) where you excel as a coach. These courses build your expertise and confidence, allowing you to make a greater impact in the lives of those God has called you to serve.
I’m not sure which specialization fits me best. What should I do?
That’s completely normal.
Many coaches begin with an area they already have some experience in or feel most naturally drawn toward – the people, various life challenges, or issues of personal, professional, relational, and spiritual growth where they feel called to help.
Also, our customer service team is happy to assist you in finding the best fit.
